The annual conference organized by the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) is the largest mining event in the world. It is held in Toronto, Canada in the first week of March. Approximately 25,800 people attend each year, including representatives from junior mining companies, major mining companies, national, regional and local governments, mining law firms, investment banks, brokerage firms, mining suppliers, and investment funds as well as geologists, mining engineers and students. The Peruvian delegation was considered the second most important to attend this convention.

PERU INCREASES PARTICIPATION OF FOREIGN INVESTORS BY 22%
- At the last edition of PDAC, the Peruvian delegation consisted of 316 participants, all key players in the country’s mining sector.
- Foreign investors took part in the following platforms: Peru Day, the CEO Luncheon, the Peruvian Cocktail and the Executive Breakfast.

The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada’s (PDAC) 2020 Convention—the world’s premier mineral exploration and mining event—registered 23 thousand attendees. Peru offered, in this convention, the largest number of activities for investors and global entrepreneurs. Its delegation consisted of 316 participants, all leaders in the Peruvian mining sector, including high-ranking Government officials and the main promoters of the country's economy.
The Canada-Peru Chamber of Commerce (CPCC), as the authorized entity in charge of organizing the Peruvian delegation’s activities in PDAC 2020, managed to notably increase the presence and participation of foreign executives at the Peruvian stand, surpassing by 11% what was achieved in previous years (from 40% in 2019 to 51% in 2020).
This select group of investors was made up of CEOs, presidents, corporation owners, among other senior executives, who participated in key activities such as Peru Day, the CEO Luncheon, the Peruvian Cocktail and the Executive Breakfast with Mining Leaders.
This increase favors the country, generating greater opportunities and investments, which help consolidate Peru as one of the world’s most attractive destinations for mining investment. "The extensive geological potential, competitive costs, experienced human talent and world-class mining projects, mark a clear competitive advantage," highlighted the Peruvian Minister of Energy and Mines, Susana Vilca during her presentation at PDAC 2020.
Additionally, the Minister of Economy and Finance, María Antonieta Alva, pointed out Peru’s solid macroeconomic foundations and its opening to the international market, during her presentation at CEO Luncheon.

Inmediatamente después a la Inauguración del Pabellón Peruano se realizó el almuerzo de bienvenida a la delegación peruana del PDAC 2020, en un espacio propicio para iniciar el networking & negocios. A este evento asistieron importantes representantes del empresariado y del gobierno peruano como la Ministra de Energía y Minas, Susana Vilca; el presidente del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, Julio Velarde, Presidencia de la República del Perú, Gobernadores Regionales, entre otros.

MEETING BREAKFAST WITH MINING LEADERS (DESAYUNO EJECUTIVO)
El famoso desayuno ejecutivo tuvo lugar el 2 de marzo en las instalaciones del MTCC. En este evento se congregaron empresarios líderes globales y de gobierno para discutir temas estratégicos de la minería en el Perú y el mundo. Se contó con la presentación del Sr. Gonzalo Tamayo, ex Ministro de Energía y Minas, quien comentó sobre los resultados y acuerdos de la Comisión para el Desarrollo Minero Sostenible, grupo de trabajo encargado por el gobierno peruano para proponer cambios a la ley minera, tales como medidas normativas, de gestión y de política pública, para el desarrollo de actividades mineras sostenibles y de Vic Fedeli, Ministro de Desarrollo Económico, Creación del Empleo y Comercio de Ontario, quien fue el encargado de brindar los “introductory remarks” del evento.

OPORTUNIDADES DE INVERSIÓN EN EL PERÚ (DÍA CENTRAL DE EXPOSICIONES - EJECUTIVOS GLOBALES)
El Día Central de Exposiciones se realizó exitosamente el lunes 2 de marzo en el MTCC. Este evento consistió en un full day de conferencias, paneles y presentaciones con la asistencia de inversionistas, líderes empresariales, altos representantes del gobierno peruano e instituciones ligadas al sector. En esta edición del PDAC 2020 se contó con la participación de la Ministra de Economía y Finanzas, Maria Antonieta Alva; la Ministra de Energía y Minas, Susana Vilca; el Viceministro de Minas, Augusto Cauti; el presidente del Banco Central de Reserva del Perú, Julio Velarde y altos representante de empresas e instituciones internacionales como S&P Global Platts, Export Development Canada, Hudbay Minerals, Anglo American Peru, World Bank Group, EY Global Mining, Mining Asociation of Canada, Ingemmet, entre otros.

El Ceo Luncheon se llevó a cabo el martes 3 de marzo en el Ritz Carlton Hotel y contó con la asistencia de más de 200 inversionistas y empresarios globales quienes tuvieron la oportunidad de escuchar a la Ministra de Economía y Finanzas, Maria Antonieta Alva, quien expuso acerca del panorama económico de nuestro país y las oportunidades de inversión. Una gran oportunidad para posicionar al PERU como un atractivo país para las inversiones.
