COMMUNICATION & MEDIA BUSINESS WEEK JUNE 2019 (Calgary – Alberta)

Outstanding students from the Marketing and Communications programs at the University of Lima visited the city of Calgary for a week and were part of Social West, the largest conference on social media and digital marketing in western Canada.

The Canada Peru Chamber of Commerce successfully organized the Academic Mission: Communication & Media Business Week 2019, from June 9 to 15 in the city of Calgary, Alberta, aimed at the Communications and Marketing careers of the University of Lima.

The main objective of the Academic Mission to Calgary was for students to expand their knowledge and experience academic and practical on field learning, through visits, sessions, panels and practical workshops, with senior executives from leading companies and universities related to the marketing sector, communications and digital media. Likewise, they were part of one of the main major media events in North America: Social West 2019.

During the days prior to the conference, 4 leading companies in the communications and marketing area were visited:

- Global Public Affairs, specialized in public relations with extensive experience in government relations, strategic communication, and stakeholder engagement.

- Evans Hunt, a leading agency in digital and traditional marketing, which through technology and creativity develops innovative projects with added value for its clients.

- Anstice Communications, a communications agency that strategically positions brands in the Canadian market through schematic strategies.

- Tenato Srategy, Marketing specialists with more than 20 years of experience. Its services combine market research, strategy and execution.

In addition, the University of Calgary was visited, where the delegation deepened their knowledge and career prospects at one of the world's leading research universities.

Regarding the Social West conference, it took place from June 12 to 14. The event was inaugurated with a ceremony and the Hashtag Awards, an award for outstanding projects in digital marketing and social networks in Western Canada. During the consecutive days, leading expert panelists from the industry presented topics relevant to the world of marketing, at a time when digital media dominated the daily life of the consumer. Among the main sessions, panels and workshops led by the main speakers, were prominent world-class companies such as: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Article, Endy, McDonald's, Calgary Flames, ATB Financial, Céntrico Digital, Eighty-Eight Agency, Anstice , among other.
