CETEMIN: Technical Education in Service of National Development

CETEMIN is a non-profit organization that, since 2003, has been promoting high-quality technical training with a strong focus on communities and employability. In 2025, it celebrates 22 years of continuous work in developing technical talent in fields such as mining, maintenance, electricity, geology, and environmental management, among others.

Over this time, more than 10,000 people have been trained through its educational programs, primarily aimed at young individuals from rural areas and communities surrounding mining and industrial operations. CETEMIN operates under a model that integrates technical training, competency-based certification, and job placement programs, supported by companies that invest in education as part of their social responsibility.

One of CETEMIN’s institutional pillars is decentralized training. The organization works across the coast, highlands, and jungle of Peru, adapting its programs to the productive needs and vocational potential of each region.

CETEMIN also develops continuous training and competency certification programs in local communities, strengthening human capital and increasing access to formal economic opportunities. Through partnerships with private companies, comprehensive scholarship programs are provided to enable young people to pursue education at no cost, particularly in areas where training opportunities are limited.

CETEMIN’s commitment to quality is supported by ISO 21001 certification for educational management systems and ISO 9001 certification for institutional processes, both aligned with international standards. In addition, CETEMIN recently earned Carbon Footprint certification, recognizing its efforts to measure and reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

In parallel, CETEMIN contributes directly to regional and national productivity by training skilled technicians who meet current labor market demands, enhancing efficiency in key productive sectors, and driving economic development from a local perspective.

CETEMIN also plays an active role in sector-wide dialogue platforms such as PERUMIN 2025, where it will showcase its initiatives in technical education, youth employability, and community engagement.
