At Confipetrol, we are committed to addressing climate change through concrete actions. We understand that our decisions impact the environment, and for this reason, we have implemented a proactive approach to reduce our carbon footprint. We are dedicated to transforming our processes and operations because every step counts in building a more sustainable future.
Since 2020, we have been actively working to lower our carbon footprint through an Integrated Management System (IMS) that complies with international standards. This approach has led us to obtain ISO 50001 certification, making us pioneers in our industry in Peru.
Energy Review: Understanding Our Consumption
Between September 2022 and March 2023, we conducted a detailed analysis of our energy consumption. We discovered that the majority of our energy use comes from transportation, presenting both a challenge and an opportunity. The 4x4 vehicles we extensively use were identified as the largest consumers of thermal energy.
With this information, we established a clear objective: to maintain a diesel consumption rate of at least 25 km per gallon. This target not only helps us become more efficient but also contributes to reducing our harmful emissions.
Practical Strategies for the Future
To achieve our goals, we have formed an Energy Efficiency Committee dedicated to finding innovative solutions. We utilize the EcoDrive platform, which enables us to track fuel consumption and monitor our fleet. This tool not only helps us reduce costs but also promotes safer driving practices.
With every decision we make, we aim to improve not only our energy efficiency but also our relationship with the environment and the communities around us. This is a commitment we view as essential to our operations.
