The construction of South America's first Airport City,operated by CUMBRA, reaches 85% completion
The megaproject for the expansion of Jorge Chavez International Airport, operated by the Inti Punku Consortium, formed by CUMBRA, has reached 85% completion.
Known as the first Airport City in South America, this mega project is in its final stages. It will serve as an international business platform that will attract development to Peru and is expected to generate, for instance, 121,000 jobs by 2025.
A significant portion of the equipment has been installed, including escalators, baggage conveyor belts, and boarding bridges.
The new terminal covers an area of 270,000 square metres, with significant progress in various aspects such as facade construction at 58%, the viaduct at 80%, asphalt pavement installation in Landside at 49%, asphalt pavement installation in the airfield at 77%, rigid pavement in the airfield at 100%, road markings and horizontal signage in the airfield completed, and the beginning of asphalt pavement in the perimeter of the passenger terminal.
The project has involved the participation of over 8,600 direct and indirect workers on site, and the use of more than 2,500 pieces of machinery in full operation.
With this megaproject, CUMBRA will continue contributing to making Lima the hub of the region and thus continue building the largest infrastructure project in Peru.
