Growing with Purpose: 18 Years Contributing to the Sustainable Development of Peru
In 2007, while still part of the corporate world and aware of the environmental and social challenges in Peru, Denis Arica, founder and current General Manager of ASD, defined his purpose: to positively influence organizational decision-makers to incorporate environmental and social standards beyond regulatory compliance.
This is how Denis decided to focus entirely on ASD. In order to fulfill this purpose, he developed a portfolio of solutions for the mining sector, which included environmental impact assessments, hydrological and hydrogeological studies, as well as biological monitoring in highly sensitive areas. These solutions, focused on strategic socio-environmental planning and stakeholder management, have contributed to the project management of its clients.
1. What are the most significant achievements ASD has reached over the past 18 years?
As a result of its 18 years of uninterrupted experience in mining and energy operations in areas with high environmental and social sensitivity, ASD is consolidating its position as one of the most important references in the country in terms of in-depth knowledge on how to address environmental and social challenges—both present and future—and what actions organizations should take to ensure the sustainability of their businesses.
ASD has developed more than 500 projects in 20 regions of the country, supported by a team of over 70 specialists and experts, assisting more than 30 clients across six key productive sectors for the Peruvian economy: mining, energy (electricity and hydrocarbons), industry, transportation, health, and sanitation. In these organizations, rather than being merely service providers, ASD has built long-term alliances that have enabled the development of effective environmental and social management solutions, while meeting clients’ objectives and expectations.
