LEGALIA is much more than a law firm
LEGALIA offers three main types of service and consultancy: (i) legal advisory, which is how the company was started; (ii) accounting and tax advisory, both of which have grown into significant parts of the business over time; and (iii) account management and administration, often requested by clients along with other services such as legal representation and contracting. LEGALIA provides a complement of back-office services that meet clients' needs so they can focus on their core business—whether that involves selling a product or providing a service. This allows LEGALIA to facilitate their business and commercial decision-making.
LEGALIA is committed to high standards of service and corporate governance. Greta Castillo, General Manager of LEGALIA, shares how the company is certified under two quality standards: ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management) and ISO 37001:2016 (Anti-Bribery Management). LEGALIA also measures its carbon footprint, which enables the company to provide services to clients all over the world and manage all projects to high standards relating to ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance).
1. How does LEGALIA discern from other consulting firms and law practices?
In addition to legal services, we also provide accounting, tax, and administrative services such as account management, contracting, and legal representation. This enables us to analyze and solve problems from an integrated perspective. The purpose of offering all these services is so that our clients can focus on the commercial or technical aspects of their businesses, while LEGALIA takes care of everything else.
2. How has LEGALIA integrated sustainability into its various areas?
For us, sustainability is more than just a trendy phrase. We are committed to the environment and have successfully incorporated the ESG concept into many of the projects we manage. To achieve this, we have integrated our carbon footprint and an annual commitment to reduce or offset our CO₂ emissions into our Integrated Quality and Anti-Bribery Management Systems.
Recently, we were invited by the local government of Cieneguilla and the Peruvian Association of Female Executives in Tourism Companies – AFEET Peru, to collaborate on a tree planting initiative.
3. Has LEGALIA contributed to the formation of the Peruvian Association for Atomic Energy (AsPeEA)? Tell us more about it.
Nuclear energy is a clean source of energy, with many applications that can aid health, agriculture, water management, and, of course, energy generation. This is something very important to a developing country such as Peru.
As the current President of AsPeEA, I’m very enthusiastic about the support we are receiving from the Canadian Embassy, through various Canadian companies. Likewise, the Peruvian Institute of Nuclear Energy (IPEN), the Faculty of Nuclear Energy at the National University of San Marcos, and the Ministry of Energy and Mines have all provided their full support.
We are confident that we will be able to significantly contribute to the new regulation of nuclear legislation, recently approved by the Congress of the Republic.
