Sodexo Strengthens Its Presence in the Energy and Resources Business Unit

With Three Key Contract Renewals in Extractive Industries

Sodexo, a global leader in sustainable food services and comprehensive facility management, has renewed three major contracts with clients in its Energy and Resources business unit, a sector where it serves the country’s leading mining and hydrocarbon companies through 39 camps located across the coast, highlands, and Amazonian regions.

So far this year, Southern Peru, Hudbay and Repsol have extended their trust in Sodexo Peru for up to 36 months. This is due to the company's focus on quality, sustainability, business impact, and operational continuity. These contracts include services such as food provision, lodging, laundry, cleaning, and maintenance of potable and wastewater treatment plants. “These achievements are the result of our clients' confidence in our value proposition, which encompasses the highest industry standards, with the aim of improving the quality of life for people working in remote operations, far from home”, says Eduardo Carrasco, Director of the Energy and Resources Business Unit at Sodexo Peru.

Sodexo has signed food service contracts with Southern Peru for three more years at its Cuajone, Ilo and Toquepala operations, through the production of nutritious lunch boxes. “Our sustainable food solutions with varied, tasty and healthy options are our hallmark in the 26 years of experience we have in the country”, says the executive.

The contract extension with Hudbay for the operation and maintenance of its drinking and waste water treatment plants at the Constancia Mining Unit benefits over 1,700 people. This agreement highlights Sodexo's ability to ensure the operational continuity of its clients, employing the highest standards of quality and safety, safeguarding their health, and positively impacting environmental protection. "These are specialized and critical services for the mining sector, but we also provide them with the sustainability approach that defines our business," emphasizes Eduardo Carrasco.

Lastly, Sodexo has renewed its comprehensive service contract for Lot 57 with Repsol, a client that has been with them for 12 years. “This case is a recognition of our efforts to promote safe environments and conditions, regardless of the operations’ location” points out Carrasco.
