4. Sustainable mine closure is an increasing concern for both the industry and local communities. What trends do you see in this area, and how is Stantec positioning itself to lead more comprehensive closure processes?
The mining industry is moving toward progressive closure and ecosystem-based design, prioritizing environmental restoration and community well-being. Stantec is integrating these practices from the early stages of its projects. It combines engineering with environmental studies and community participation to create integrated closure-oriented designs that not only meet regulatory requirements but also leave a positive legacy in the areas where the company operates.
