From July 27 to August 2, the Smart Business Week: AI & Digital Strategy Experience, an academic program organized and promoted by the Canada-Peru Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Linkers International Education, was successfully carried out at the University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF). This initiative brought together 12 participants, including university students, graduates and young professionals, in an intensive experience that combined academic training, business visits and cultural activities in the city of Niagara Falls, Canada.
During seven days, participants attended MasterClasses given by international experts such as Dr. Sathy Srithar - Associate Dean, Master of Management, Dr. Raquel Benítez Rojas - Associate Dean, Master of Arts in Digital Media and Global Communications, Dr. Hassan Baz Chamas - Associate Dean, Master of Data Analytics and Dr. Sana Mumtaz - Associate Professor, Master of Management, addressing topics such as business innovation in an international context, applied artificial intelligence, data analysis and leadership in the Canadian context.
As part of the Business Tour, the group visited the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub, where they participated in a digital strategy workshop and learned about digital tools for business management, as well as the ES Fox Engineering & Fabrication Shop facilities. A special visit was made to Hatch Ltd., a global engineering company based in Niagara Falls, recognized for its contribution to infrastructure projects and innovative spaces for the local community.
The program also offered several day trips to discover the cultural and natural wealth of the region:
- Niagara City Cruise and Journey Behind the Falls.
- Niagara Parks Power Station & Tunnel Tour
- Tasting at Queenston Mile Vineyard

The experience culminated with the presentation of final projects, a closing ceremony and a farewell lunch at the Fallsview Grand Buffet with prime views of Niagara Falls, ending a week of learning, inspiration and international networking.

Testimonial from Daniel Robles, 22 years old, graduate of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP)
“Before coming, I imagined the classes would be traditional, but they turned out to be dynamic and challenging, which pushed me to think quickly—something I believe is the best way to learn. I enjoyed the attractions and the breathtaking view of Niagara Falls and even celebrated my birthday here. The MasterClasses allowed me to learn about artificial intelligence models, business management, and the importance of data in decision-making. I will apply this knowledge in my work as a civil engineer in the mining industry. UNF is not a conventional university: innovation is part of its essence.”
